Trivia
The city's name comes from the Greek "lithos," which means "stone." Therefore, the word "Lithonia" literally means city/town of stone. The town's motto is the City of Granite.

Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area
Consisting of the northern of two peaks in the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve, Arabia Mountain is called a monadnock. This is an isolated rock hill, knob, ridge, or small mountain that rises abruptly from the surrounding plain, much like the famous nearby Stone Mountain. Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area offers a bike trail and many places to hike and picnic. The view is breathtaking!
Panola Mountain State Park
