Railroad Park: Hailed as "Birmingham's Living Room," this 19-acre green space in downtown Birmingham provides a historically rich landscape of 600 trees and 30 percent water, and various nature trails connecting to Southside and the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s campus.
Metro Area Express (MAX): Operated by the Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA), this public transportation system serves a daily average of 400,000 riders across 200 square miles with a fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) environmentally-friendly buses.
The Lakeview District: Comprised of two main historical destinations, The Pepper Place Market District, and The 29th & 7th Entertainment District, this 36-block entertainment district provides a vibrant atmosphere of music venues, dining, shopping and much more near downtown Birmingham.

The 56-foot-tall Vulcan, and its 100,000 pounds of iron, that towers over Birmingham have secured the top-title of the world’s largest cast metal statue. It is also the largest statue ever made in the United States.
