Lake Oconee is a reservoir on the Oconee River just 75 miles east of Atlanta. It was created in 1979 when Georgia Power completed the construction of the Wallace Dam on the Oconee River. Georgia Safari Conservation Park, ‘Where the Grasslands of Africa meet The Hills of Georgia’, is a fun, family-friendly safari park. Sweets Berry Farm is a 15-acre family farm in Rutledge, Georgia that allows you to pick your own fruit and berries from mid-May until early September.

Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is a “single artist” museum displaying the art of Steffen Thomas, one of only fourteen in the United States. The Museum offers educational programs for school children, homeschoolers, college students, graduate students, adults, and seniors. The building contains several main galleries, exhibition galleries, and special gallery spaces showcasing a permanent collection of over 400 pieces and access to thousands of pieces of Steffen’s works.
