History
Tinley Park was founded in 1930, by German immigrants, and was originally named Bremen. Bremen was a hub for tradesmen, farmers, and wind-driven mills, due to its ideal location near routes to Chicago, Pacific Rail lines. Samuel Tinley was the first railroad agent, and the town officially took the name Tinley Park Village in his name.
Tinley Park maintains a designated historical district in attempt to preserve and restore homes to their original classic designs and appearance.
