Historic downtown Wendell is designated on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, its proximity to the state capital (just 12 miles away!) has made Wendell a popular suburb. It offers easy access to Downtown Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park, as well as Durham and Chapel Hill. North Carolina State University is just 25 minutes away, and Duke University and the University of North Carolina are less than an hour away.
An array of shops and eateries make downtown Wendell an interesting place to visit or live.
