Clayton, IN
D.R. Horton is excited to be building new homes in Clayton, Indiana. If you're seeking a peaceful and charming retreat in the Hoosier State, Clayton is for you. The town is named after the famous politician and statesman Henry Clay and is renowned for its rich history and friendly community. One of the perks of Clayton is proximity to exploring the scenic countryside and visiting the local farms, where you can purchase fresh produce and homemade goods.
The town is home to three of the four schools in the Mill Creek School Corporation: Mill Creek East Elementary, Cascade Middle School, and Cascade High School, home of the Cadets. Cascade High School won National Blue Ribbon School for Exemplary Performance in 2018, making it the only high school to win the award in the state of Indiana. Clayton is located in southern Hendricks County and is easily accessible from Danville, Plainfield, Brownsburg, Avon, and downtown Indianapolis.
There is always entertainment and beauty to be found in Clayton, as the city is located near several other water and nature attractions, such as the Hendricks County Historical Museum, the Sodalis Nature Park, the Chateau Thomas Winery, Beasley's Orchard, Splash Island, Avon Gardens, and the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatic Center.
Clayton is known for hosting the annual Fall Festival in September, sponsored by the Clayton Community Association. The festival features horse pulls, tractor pulls, live bands, food, kids' games, bingo, parade, and more. Clayton also sponsors the "Triple F Ride" in June, a non-profit bike rally that starts at Lambert Park. The park is also home to the "Movies in the Park" series on Friday evenings. There is never a dull day in charming city of Clayton, with entertainment available for everyone!
