Things To Do

The great outdoors, history that’s literally everywhere, along with beautiful parks and bustling shopping districts make Aiken the place to be. Plus, it offers a location right across the river from busy Augusta, Georgia. Below is a very short list of things to do and places to see. There is so much more to Aiken than meets the eye!

Hitchcock Woods. One of the largest urban forests in the nation, offering 65 miles of sandy trails for hiking and horseback riding.

Aiken Center for the Arts. Educational classes, fine art gallery sales, cultural activities, and support of local artists.

Aiken County Historical Museum. Immerse yourself in the history of this stunning Southern city. The building housing the museum is a "Winter Colony" cottage originally built in 1860.

DuPont Planetarium and RPSEC Observatory. View the heavens in comfort and style inside this state-of-the-art planetarium featuring 30 ft. diameter dome. There is also an observatory open for telescope viewing following each show, weather permitting.
